What a sworn translation is and when you need one
A sworn translation (úradný or súdny preklad) is made by a sworn translator entered in the register of the Slovak Ministry of Justice under Act No. 382/2004 Coll. The translator binds the translation to the document or its copy and attaches a certifying clause and stamp – that is what makes it official.
A sworn translation is required by the registry office (birth and marriage certificates), the foreign police (residence documents), schools and universities (school reports, diplomas, nostrification), employers (criminal-record extracts), courts, insurers and banks. An ordinary translation without the clause is not accepted in official procedures.

Ukrainian documents: sworn translation + apostille without travel
We run our own offices at both ends of the Ukraine–Slovakia route: the sworn Slovak translation is made in Bratislava, and the apostille on the Ukrainian original (birth certificate, diploma, criminal-record extract) is filed on your behalf directly with the ministries in Ukraine through our Kharkiv and Kyiv offices.

Who may produce a sworn translation in Slovakia?
Only a sworn translator entered in the register of experts, interpreters and translators of the Slovak Ministry of Justice (Act No. 382/2004 Coll.). Exactly such translators work with Etalon.
How fast can you deliver a sworn translation?
Standard documents (birth certificate, criminal-record extract, school report) usually take 2–3 business days; express deadlines by agreement depending on capacity. We confirm the exact date together with the quote.
Do institutions accept electronic sworn translations?
An electronic sworn translation with a qualified signature has the same legal force as the paper form and is accepted by a growing number of institutions, especially for filings via slovensko.sk. If your authority requires paper, we issue it classically.
